Essential Oil Sore Muscle Salve (Recipe)

My husband and I loved this recipe. It helps ease the tension in sore muscles. All of these oils were included in my premium kit, which is awesome. I've been having fun exploring ways I can use essential oils in homemade products for my family.

Ingredients:

  • Copaiba (Young Living), 18 drops
  • Peppermint (Young Living), 18 drops
  • Panaway  Blend (Young Living), 18 drops
  • Unrefined Coconut Oil, 1/2 cup

Optional: Pinch of ground Cayenne Pepper
Optional: 2 Tbsp. beeswax granules

Instructions:
>>In the top of a double boiler (or not so fancy pryex glass measuring cup does the trick!) melt unrefined coconut oil. Heat over medium stirring occasionally until it is fully melted into liquid form.

>Optional: Add the cayenne pepper (for warming effect of the salve), stir and let cool 5-10 minutes

>>Add all essential oils. Mix gently.

>>Pour into glass container (mason jars work great!) and let cool until solid. Tip: put your jar in the freezer for 30 minutes to quicken that process.

>>Seal and store at room temperature. Tip: if you're in a warmer climate add the beeswax.

To use: Scoop a small amount onto fingertips or rub fingers on it (warmth of your fingers will melt it) and gently massage into sore muscles.
